Print Preferences

Your script, your layout, your way.

The Print preferences panel is where you can manage options for printing your script or exporting it as a PDF.

Setting Your Preferences

  • Click the ... menu in the editor toolbar and select Print preferences...

  • You’ll see three tabs — All Scripts, Variety Scripts, and Revisions. Variety Scripts has its own spacing and column settings, while All Scripts contains universal options like color mode and title page inclusion. Revisions lets you choose what to print from a script with revisions enabled: the entire script, all revised pages, or active revision set only. You can also print pages in full color, reflecting the revision set each page was last revised in.

The Options

  • All Scripts

    • Text Color allows for color or black and white printing.​

    • Pages allows to include your titles page(s) when printing.

  • Variety Scripts

    • One-column layout generates a PDF that looks like what you see in the script editor.

    • Two-column layout converts the editor view into two columns in the PDF. Bracketed multimedia elements appear in the left column, while speaker names, dialogue, and parentheticals — essentially, everything destined for the teleprompter — appear in the right column.

    • Right column line spacing lets you adjust the line spacing of the dialogue blocks. This option is ONLY applicable to variety scripts with the two-column layout.

⚠️ Note: One page in the editor won't necessarily translate to one printed page when using two-column layout.

  • Revisions

    • Range

      • Entire script prints the entire script with revision marks based on your settings in the Revisions modal.

      • All revised pages prints only pages containing revisions.

      • Active revision set only prints only pages containing revisions from the active revision set.

    • Color

      • Full-page revision color prints each page with the background color corresponding to the revision set that page was last revised in, based on your revision settings.

Headers and Footers

You can customize the header and footers that appear on your scripts in the editor and when you print or export to PDF.

⚠️ Note: Preferences are specific to your browser and computer. You won't see your saved preferences if you use a different browser, a different computer, or if you clear your cookies across any device.
