When Revisions Mode is turned on, any new or edited text is marked as a revision.
Each revision pass is organized into a revision set following the industry-standard production color cycle.
You can create new revision sets, rename existing ones, or adjust their colors and marks.
Revisions: How It Works in Scripto
1. Permissions
Only users with the Revision permission can create, edit, or label revision sets.
🔥 Revisions Mode and Change Tracking can’t be on at the same time.

2. Turning Revisions On/Off
Toggle Revision Mode on or off.
When enabled, select the initial revision set (default: Blue).
The system shows a list of all revision sets.
You can graduate to the next active set at any time.
You can add, delete and rename revisions sets as needed.
3. Managing Revision Sets
Active set: Allows you to choose the set you want.
Label: Edit the revision set label (up to 50 characters) to customize how it appears in the list and in headers/footers. Defaults follow standard naming conventions, but you can type anything you like.
Full draft: Marks the revision set as a full draft. This creates a new baseline so future revision views and exports can show only revisions made after this draft.
Mark: Enter up to 3 characters or choose 1 emoji (😁) to mark revised lines in the margin (default: asterisk).
Text color: Choose the color used to display revised text (default: black). Click the field to change it.
Page color: Choose from 10 predefined colors. You can edit any of the predefined colors by simply clicking in the fields.
Delete an unused revision set by hovering next to the page color field in any row to show the red trash icon.
(🔥 only revision sets that have never been active can be deleted).
New revision set allows you to create as many custom sets as you like.
4. Viewing Revisions in the Editor
Show Page Colors: Highlights any page containing revisions by displaying the active revision set’s color in the page margins.
Header / Footer options:
You can set any of the headers or footers to display the Active or Collated revisions.
5. Revision Displays
Choose which revisions appear in the script:
Collated script – Displays marks from the highest revision set on each page.
From active revision set only – Displays marks from the current revision set only.
From all revision sets – Displays marks from all revision sets.
From all revision sets after and including latest full draft – Displays all revisions from the latest full draft onward.
None – Hides all revision marks and colors.
6. Manually Add or Remove a Revision Mark
With Revisions turned on, you can quickly add or remove a revision mark from selected text using the asterisk icon in the toolbar.
Highlight the text you want to mark or unmark.
Click the asterisk icon in the toolbar.
The revision mark will be added or removed from the selected text.
You can also use shortcuts:
mac: clear revised – cmd+opt+[ / mark revised – cmd+opt+]
win: clear revised – ctrl+alt+[ / mark revised – ctrl+alt+]
7. Printing / Exporting
Customize what appears in Print / Export in Print Preferences;
Full Page Color – Entire page shows revision color.

All revised pages
Active revision set only
